Transcend brand. but i didn't get it. I got my upgrade from PC Options yata, and got the Kingston sticks @1250 each. It's DDR2 667 and worked good.
@jaijin Is there a significant improvement in performance as compared to the 2x 1gb you had before? PC Options is in Gilmore, right? Do they also install it for you?
yup. but you'll only notice it with intense usage. like before, converting 100MB of video takes around two mins, now it's only about 1:20. faster boot up and shut down times too! i installed mine at their store before i paid for it. i went to the sm north annex branch.
Just to update this thread, how much does this cost 2gb DDR2 667 cost right now? I tried checking out some pc stores and, man, they are already in the 2,500 - 3,500 range, a piece! I am planning to buy for my MacBook to address my spinning beach ball woes. I am checking out the Marketplace but can't find any seller anymore. I am still checking with Charlie. Ynzal.Com is even more expensive than what I have found in the malls. I haven't checked Greenhills though. Thanks!
any upgrade suggestions for an early 2009 macbook aluminum? can this handle 8gn or am I limited to only 4gb? thanks
same here kingston brand, seems they last forever. Even on the PCs they tend to live longer than other brands
Just got a GSKill pair. It's almost 24 hours and still running smoothly and fast. 4GB on Mac Mini. (2x2GB sticks)
I buy my ram from tipidpc.com. There are computer shops that post there and offer warranty on their products but mostly I buy from individual sellers. Yes there is some risk of getting a dud but prices can be very good. Just look for sellers with good feedback and who will offer a return policy if the memory is faulty. there is no early 2009 macbook aluminum, the first and only macbook aluminum is late 2008 which the maximum ram you can installed is 4gb (as per apple) but some says it can handle 6gb. can you clarify what model, if it is macbook pro 13" (mid 2009 and mid 2010), both can be upgraded to a maximum of 8gb ram
@bhoyet you're right. mine is a late 2008 Macbook. According to Mactracker it can handle up to 6gb meaning a 1x4gb and 1x2gb sticks. Anyone tried this setup?
