Hi guys! If anyone is planning to travel to South Korea soon, BPI is currently having a multiple entry promo for gold credit card holders
yup, and even for gold express teller card holders, until december 2016. i plan to avail myself of this when i apply for a visa soon--i booked a six-night trip to seoul in early june as a birthday gift to my wife air asia had good fares and i was able to find a nice boutique hotel.
Visiting Korea soon? try watching the famous non-verbal show "Nanta"? Why Nanta is still the best show to watch in Korea. 1. You don't have to understand Korean because it's a non-verbal show. 2. The show has history. It first started in 1997 and it's been running for almost 20 years. 3. You might see future superstars performing. A famous Korean actor Ryu Seung Ryong was the one of the first Nanta performers back in the 1990s. And now he's one of the biggest movie stars in Korea. Who knows you might be able to see future superstars at the show? You can find more details on the best price ticket for nanta here:http://goo.gl/Khfrkp If you are looking for a fun and unique performance show to watch with your friends and family, Nanta is a great choice! **You can reserve tickets in Myeongdong, Chungjeongno, and Hongdae**
Hi, guys! I'm going to Korea on Friday. Any tips/recommendations? What are must-buy things that are cheaper in Korea than in other countries? Thanks for the input!
I think, in general, only makeup is cheap there. Facemasks, vanity kits, etc. The cheapest area for these merchandise would probably be the stalls near Ewha Women's University. (My wife bought a lot of facemasks! Literally.) Most of the malls close at midnight, but the malls in Dongdaemun area are open until dawn. But, don't expect them to be bargains... mas mura pa sa Tutuban or Divisoria imho. If you really want to buy cheap, there's this place called Seoul Fold Flea Market. It is like a garage sale though. http://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/SHP/SH_EN_7_2.jsp?cid=1933245 Enjoy Korea! Try out all their street food, visit places like Nami Island and N Seoul Tower.
korea is generally expensive but make sure to try their korean barbecue. Flea markets are the way to go for shopping.
You're welcome, sir Butch! When I went there, it was late November (winter), and the place was filled with winter jacket overruns and knitted long sleeves. I got myself real bargains - 2 coats, a reebok winter jacket, and some souvenir items (magnets) all for 45,000 wons ~ approx 1800 pesos. I am not sure what clothing they sell in other seasons, so not a must-visit place when you go to Korea. I'd still rather go to places where there are lots of restos
thanks. i'm basically looking for junk antiques, collectibles, nothing really new. we'll be there in the summer so there should be some interesting stuff on sale.
Just got back from Seoul for our holy week trip. Been there 2x but this trip is much better paced than my last one. Tips: 1. If you're looking for a nice Hotel, Four Seasons Seoul is holding a 2+1 night promo on their website. I was able to get the offer and the hotel is sublime. ~$1,200 for a 3-night stay is a steal for a hotel like this. 2. The hotel is smack in the center of everything. On our first day we were able to cover Gwanghwamun, Gyeongbokgung, Insa-dong, Hanok Village, Chonggyecheon Stream, Myeongdong just by walking. (Note: Wear boost-soled shoes or its counterpart for maximum comfort). And if you don't want to walk, just request for the "house car" (Mercedes Benz S-Class) to ferry you to your destination (2km radius of hotel only). 3. 5-day unlimited data sim for $23 only at Trazy. Reserve online and pick up at airport on arrival. https://www.trazy.com/experience/detail/korea-sim-card-unlimited-data 4. Google maps is da bomb. Never had to ask for directions with the locals, their English is surprisingly limited. 5. Seoul also experiences traffic jam during rush hours. Sometimes, walking is faster during those times (check with google maps). 6. If you love food trucks, they set up every weekend nights at the base of the banpo bridge (where the rainbow water cannon show is located). Lines for food trucks can get long though but the crowd was nice.
will be going to jeju next month to speak at a conference. i'd been to jeju once before--very pretty place, but expensive (unless you're fortunate enough to be sponsored, as i will thankfully be). there's a straight flight but my routing will take me via incheon and gimpo. i've heard, by the way, that jeju will be visa-free soon if you go there on a straight flight. (thankfully i was given a three-year multiple-entry visa last year.)
Hi, what happens if you don't get to use your Korean Visa? I applied for one and got approved, however my trip will not push through. Do I need to do anything? TIA!
you dont have to do anything. it will expire by itself. Not sure if it will affect your future applications; most likely they will just inquire as to why your visa was never used... what's the validity period & for how many entries?
Will be staying in Myeongdong for 4 days and 3 nights, will only be free 5PM onwards. Any recommendations on what to do?
