Planning to get the new Apple TV. My only concern though is I only have the Pldt 999 3mbps as my Internet connection. Will that be enough?
I switched to Getflix over the weekend as well. Works flawlessly with configuration on my router. I noticed though that loading of hulu ads is taking longer than usual resulting in a longer waiting time with a black screen. Not sure if this is because of Getflix, Hulu, or my internet connection. I am on 15 mpbs from Globe.
That's strange Apple is only selling 2 variants of the new the TV. The 32GB and 64GB variant. Both should have the Siri remote. The optional accessory is the remote loop.
It should come with a Siri remote, but will it work is the question that still needs answers. I can't recall which website that I read regarding that but it says, if i'm not mistaken, that Siri remote in the new ATV won't work all over the world - only for a few countries (at first). You can still use it as a bluetooth remote and its touch-capabilities, but not the voice control/command feature.
Should you buy Apple TV? We think The Times said it best: it's a good all-around streaming device. Despite its shortcomings, its value should grow over time as developers help expand its capabilities. http://www.wsj.com/articles/apple-tv-review-a-giant-iphone-for-your-living-room-1446080460
^no remote is a dealbreaker...i would've thought regardless of whether it worked or not in some countries, the package would be complete... this i thought would have been a good time to replace an old atv with the new, siri-enabled one...
Apple will actually ship two Apple TV packages: one with the new Siri Remote and the other with what the company is calling the Apple TV Remote. http://appleinsider.com/articles/15/09/09/siri-on-apple-tv-will-be-limited-to-just-8-of-80-launch-countries-apps-limited-to-200mb
New Apple TV Review: Loads of Potential—and Lots of Bugs https://www.yahoo.com/tech/new-apple-tv-has-loads-1288113545257014.html The Apple TV will finally become available later this week, for $150 or $200 (for 32 or 64 gigabytes of app storage, respectively). That’s much pricier than similar devices like the Amazon’s $100 Fire TV, the $130 Roku, and Google’s $35 Chromecast. And some of those boxes can play 4K, ultra-high-definition video from Amazon and Netflix, which the “future of TV” box, weirdly, cannot.
Got mine today. And yes it does include the Siri remote but no HDMI cable same as the previous generation.
Yes. Remote still comes with the microphone button but it will just give you a spotlight search. Siri is turned off. Tried changing the location to US. No luck. Siri is still turned off.
Sir can you share a mini review? Is it true that..only 200mb are allowed for Apps download? I find it a deal breaker.
Can anybody describe how the new tvOS Plex app works? Can I use it for streaming videos from my Synology Video station?
I've only downloaded a few games so far. Currently playing Crossy Road. The GUI is slightly better than the previous Apple TV. Haven't really had time playing with it.
