IMO, If rumors are true that the Note line will be replaced by the "Z" line (fall announcement), the "S" cycle will still not make any sense as it will miss the holiday shopping period. Samsung will reportedly debut its next Galaxy S phones in January 2021 | The Verge
New decade, new cycle. Makes sense for Samsung to drop the Note line when year after year it's the same comment that the Note is like an S phone with an S-Pen. Hype for the Note line has been decreasing year after year as well. Interest for Z Folds to get S-Pen support is also growing so there's hope Samsung listen and have S-Pen support to all of their flagship phones and tablets.
