After watching The Chalet, I’m about to watch this last night but got too sleepy. I’ll start watching this tonight.
This left me as an emotional wreck. Beautifully written, powerfully acted, with a compelling yet scary narrative that it pervasively sustains the series effectively, either as a family drama, which it is at its core and a horror fable, which provided many terrifying imagery and chilling moments that at times, I had to look away form the screen or lower the volume (I was doing both okay haha). What's surprising is that it had a satisfying payoff, which worked on a profound level that I did not expect, that a love of family, can transcend time, place and even life. Was the hill house truly haunted? Or was the family too broken to correctly perceive reality? In any case, that was an enjoyable ride. 8.5/10
I wanted it to be a 9/10, but since I did get scared (and the only flick able to do that for years was The Exorcist), I lowered those stars... Terrific story-telling. Almost like Hereditary but less of the drama. Netflix sure is ramping up its originals and Prime Video is right now making catch-up...
Binge watched The Haunting of Hill House, finished season 1 in two days. Hahahaha. Really good story and it pulled off what most horror films/series fail to do, which is to have a satisfying ending. The scares are paced really good, a few jump scare moments here and there and there are those that are just really creepy. Highly recommended!
Love the Haunting of Hill House! Only 4 episodes in and each episode is well written and very compelling.
https://tvline.com/2018/10/19/luke-cage-cancelled-season-3-netflix-marvel/ Luke Cage Cancelled at Netflix Another one bites the dust. A few weeks ago Iron Fist now Luke Cage. Reboot coming up in Disney’s Streaming service?
Yeah, they're both stinkers anyway. They should also cancel Jessica Jones, Season 2 was a huge disappointment. Just stick with Daredevil and the Punisher.
They did that also in Season 1, when DD took on an entire gang of Russian kidnappers on a hallway...you can almost feel the intensity and fatigue later on
Yup, they also have it in Season 2. It's a signature now. I am actually expecting another one next season. Season 3 is great!
^That's the boon right now in filmmaking, much like Inarritu's Birdman and Cuaron's Children of Men, and in True Detective and Daredevil... True, we'd like to see more of that...
Charlie Cox breathing and wheezing ( as if he's having an asthma attack. ) that's not acting, he's probably dead tired.
