^wait for tonight's announcement, 2nd Gen might be coming... Although the Chromecast is the cheapest way to make your dumb TV smarter...
Chromecast Audio connects your existing speakers for $35 | Engadget Google's Chromecast 2.0 is faster, more colorful and still just $35 | Engadget
Probably range. You can use it as far as you have wifi coverage. And answer the phone and not interrupt your music stream. Audio is directly streamed into chromecast and not from your phone. I do not understand the costing for this device. It is priced the same as the chromecast which can do what it can do and stream video. I wonder if you can multitask with these chromecast devices. Like play a netflix movie with chromecast and then cast music from the play music app into chromecast audio all at the same time.
^sorry for such a noob question but with chromecast audio, no internet means no music right? there's now way to connect them (phone source+chromecast audio)? thanks
Based on my personal experience (with the Chromecast 1), no internet makes it totally useless! Even if the content is off-line (saved in your device).
Does anybody here have experience using running HBO GO in the Chromecast using the Iphone as remote? How is the resolution? I have an HBO GO account free from Skycable but I cant play it via my Roku. Was wondering is the Chromecast will do the trick. Thanks!
bought a chromecast 2.0 at datablitz aura for only 1800+ and only 2 stocks left! Wish they had the audio though.
