Lazada has the 32GB Nexus 5X (white, blue & black) for P25,999 (US SRP $429 excludes 12% VAT) For the expected P3,000 difference you can get the 64GB Nexus 6P (gold or black) for an estimated P28,999 (US SRP $549 excludes 12% VAT) I think LG & Huawie expect low volume sales hence the single size.
Assuming it has 12% VAT and LG Philippines warranty then I think it's good. The Nexus 6P appears to bend rather easily. By comparison the iPhone 6S does better with the bends. Guess we know why the fruit costs more. Also saw this video with the Nexus 6P doing as well as the iPhone 6S
hi guys, I work for Huawei, for the devices division. we're finalizing all the details (pricing, colors, and other matters) for the 6P. stay tuned as we will make an announcement soon.
Yes, an official version of the 6P for the local market would also make updating the OS easier, me thinks.
The Nexus 6p will be available for pre-orders on Friday via Lazada. It'll go on sale on December 11and the official local price is P29990 according to local tech blog Yugatech.
Checked it out on Lazada's website. Doesn't say if this is for the local market or is being imported from other markets. As not familiar with the Nexus brand, I don't know if that matters. I once bought a Samsung phone which was meant for Korea. I couldn't update it to the next Android version.
I posted a question on yugatech's post about the lazada availability. The answer was it's from the official channel. It should be the global model H1512. There's actually a lot of listings before they officially made an "Exclusive to lazada" release. As of my last check, that listing is still tagged as "coming soon"
If you are looking for the LG Nexus 5X on the other hand and want 100% band compatibility with Globe or Smart then go with model H791 followed by H790. H791 has 28 frequency bands while H790 has 23. Model H791F is 86% band compatible with Globe, 100% band compatible with Smart and only 16 frequency bands. Model H798 is 86% band compatible with Smart, 100% band compatible with Globe and only 15 frequency bands. The Huawei Nexus 6P international model H1512 (A2) has 30 frequency bands & 100% band comparability with Globe or Smart. North American model H1511 (A1) has 22 frequency bands & 100% band compatibility with Globe and 86% band compatibility with Smart.
it's in pre-order in Lazada. we're working with someone to get it to one of Philmug's favorite stores.
IMO, it won't matter where you get it from, so long as its a Nexus. It will get the latest updates from Google.
For those who already got a Nexus 5x/6P before the official launch, I wonder if Huawei will honor warranty claims?
