We can talk anything about car modifications, please post some pics if available.

My car is not modded yet, but here it is:

Will changing the exhaust (axle back) of the car void my warranty? Thank you.

After graduating college... I only change my car's seat cover and stereo (head unit) if necessary.

    Sorry to hijack this thread...

However, after driving my dad's (less than 3 year old, 9 seater, diesel) AUV. I feel like there's just not enough power.

Does changing the air filter (to something like K&N) really help?

I don't think so. As long as you don't mess with the engine.

Hi folks. I need some advise from the car experts out there. I'm planning to replace my Ford Escape 2011's head unit. I'm looking at a head unit with GPS/ Voice Navigation with Rear camera. L.A. Car Accesories gave me P38K quote for a Pioneer AVH X8750 (including installation, rear camera and panel). I'm not sure however if Apple Car Play works in the Philippines. No Apple Car Play means no GPS/ Voice Navigation. The other option is this android-based customized head unit made by Growl Audio which is cheaper at 32K. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

mmm....rule of thumb: If you can un-modify your car without leaving a trace (for car warranty reason and assuming the mod was not dealer-authorized or installed), DO IT. Otherwise, enjoy your damn, fine yellow road rocket!

On the other hand, why would you bling it? MMM.......put a disco ball inside your damn, fine yellow road rocket. That's the only mod I'd recommend.

the only mod i did to my present humble car is a couple of anti-theft nuts for my car plates...period.

i like to remain incognito on the road...my guess is that my model, make, color and unobtrusive demeanor on the road is the same as nearly the other 15K drivers in the city...

and if that yellow rocket ever makes an appearance on our damn roads someday, I'll know it's you @pels_17 and i'm gonna hog your taillights like a leech :p

Folks. Has anyone here used Apple Car Play in the Philippines. I spoke with L.A. Car Accessories again and they told me that they were able to make Apple Car Play work with the 8650bt albeit with just a few applications. I only need the following apps to work. : Messaging, Calls, Maps with Voice Navigation, Apple Music. Thanks.

^I think it's possible. I'm using Pioneer AVH-5750BT without Carplay. I have mine installed at Import Elementz along Araneta Ave. I'm sure they are much cheaper that L.A. Car Accessories, sir.

I believe this was last year's model. I couldn't find any software / firmware update in the AU website for the 8750. I guess I'll have to settle with the 8650. Does voice navigation work for maps. Also if I turn on the Hey Siri setting will I be able do voice dictation / voice command without touching any physical button? TIA.

The only "modifications" I've done so far are:
    1. Back-up sensors (through casa)
    2. Headlight and tail light covers
    3. Dash cam

Not much but will probably do more once the 3-year warranty lapses. :p

Any opinions on replacement LED headlight bulbs? I'm thinking of replacing the stock bulbs of my old Camry.

Uso nowadays yung "retrofit HID projector headlights" with "bendable daytime running lights (DRL)". I see them often in my FB feed, might be interesting to some members, IMO, it is a bit too much for my taste. Also saw a CR-V that caught fire because one of the HID/LED lights shorted. Probably best not to skimp out on cost and get the best lights out there and have it installed by professionals.

Also had first hand experience regarding bad third party lights...

When I was in college, I had fog lamps installed at Banawe... Stall gave me a money back guarantee if something goes wrong...

Since I wanted to test it (I would not want to blow up a fuse at night) I turned it on while driving home...

The housing melted causing damage to my bumper...

When I returned to the shop in Banawe... They returned my money for the lights... Bumper retouch came from my own pocket :(

MMM...A BIG NO-NO. Not worth it. Stick with dealer-supplied bulbs ONLY.

Replaced the stock halogen bulb from my Jazz and used Alva LED. I think it's been a year now and still working like kicking new. My Civic has an HID installed and lasted for almost 4yrs now. Though car seldom used only.

Car modification is a hobby best enjoyed while you're young, so make the most of your youth. As you grow older, and more financially capable of buying all the mods your car can hold, somehow the hobby loses its appeal na. Our age is also the time when we can afford pricier cars that don't need added/modded parts.
