Hi, has anyone been able to see or activate the 2G /3G toggle after updating to 8.1? It's supposed to be one of the features of the update aimed at conserving battery.
^ I think he meant 2G/3G/LTE which you can select manually. It's a feature of iOS 8.1, but AFAIK it depends on your network. None for Smart and Globe yet. Yung Sun meron ata
Yes that's what I meant. It's suppose to conserve battery life by shifting to 2G for just receiving iMessages, some notifications and other stuffs then shift back to 3G for browsing and streaming. http://www.redmondpie.com/full-ios-8.1-changelog-heres-everything-thats-new/
Just had a chat with a talktoglobe customer service agent and what she said surprised me when I asked her about 8.1 and the toggle option, she said that they have limited access to 8.1 and all she can help me with is 8.0 features which includes messaging, photos, multimedia and camera.
Yes I have the toggle switch and I'm using Sun. It's just so funny and ironic that the two telcos who officially offer the iPhone doesn't have it.
^ according to @neilrossgoco's post and source: "If your carrier will support LTE (might also be called 4G) but hasn't rolled it out on the network yet, you'll see these options: LTE: allows cellular data use over the LTE network when available 3G: allows cellular data use over the 3G network when available 2G: allows cellular data use over the 2G network when available " Globe has rolled out its LTE already unlike Sun.
I'm also curious. I updated from iOS 7.1.2 to 8.1 for this, just found out that Globe still has that same toggle.
