i would like to explore video editing this summer and was wondering which should i use to share it online. Youtube or Vimeo? I've noticed here in the Philippines that a lot of us uses Vimeo instead of Youtube (or is it just me)

What can you guys suggest I use.

    TIA:)

you want hits? - YouTube is the way to go... It has a greater following compared to Vimeo...

I guess it's safe to say that everyone who knows Vimeo knows YouTube as well... But not everyone who knows YouTube, knows Vimeo.

    just my 2 cents.

What's stopping you from using both?

@rafaelc378, you're right. i can use both. just thought maintaining one account would be easier, but i guess i should try out both and see what's best suited.

    thanks guys appreciate it.:D

I also thought of rafaelc378's question... that makes sense! - what is stopping you from using both anyway?

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I guess I like to maintain only one account for now:)

Laziness I guess. But I might try both.

Signed up with vimeo. Loaded a short movie for my wife last may 1. :p

Noticed though that viewing clips in YouTube are faster than vimeo. Why?

    Thanks again. Appreciate it.

Both! Youtube has always been there and has a billion viewers. Vimeo is slowly rising to the top, as I've noticed. So by uploading both, you're getting the best of both worlds. Personally though, I'd view on youtube more. :))

And yes, youtube is faster than vimeo. :)) I thought it was just my net but apparently, everyone finds it slow.

Is it possible to share a video in YouTube/Vimeo privately? (only those who has the link can view my video?)

I uploaded a video in Facebook and the quality was really bad.

I'm hoping to use YouTube/Vimeo next time but I do not want my video to show up every time someone makes a search.

When we upload videos to our online news website, we do it through vimeo. Whenever we want to popularise a video to a wider audience, we upload it through Youtube.

From what I heard YouTube has more relay 'servers' around the world that's why streaming is faster via YouTube than any other video site. So I guess if you want your video to be seen by more people, YouTube is the way to go
