The Free Open Beta Has Begun "Blizzard Entertainment is proud to announce that the free open beta has begun. In preparation for the launch of World of Warcraft, we are now introducing the most complete version of the game, including a new patch with extensive content, including racial traits, raids, Hunter and Paladin talents, new quests for high-end zones, and much more. We need your help for a final, massive test of our infrastructure, account creation, and the game itself. So we are now opening up the testing phase to the entire Internet-ready public of North America, Australia, and New Zealand. So if you aren't already playing World of Warcraft, sign up for the open beta now and begin your adventures in Azeroth! An initial run of open beta accounts is now available from FilePlanet, so please visit www.fileplanet.com to grab your open beta key. Please note that there is no fee whatsoever for the open beta; the open beta is absolutely free. Unlike with the final stress test, you do not have to be a FilePlanet subscriber to participate in the open beta." Hurry, limited keys.
visited the site often. When I visited it this morning, the beta's closed already due to an error on their website. DANG!
Ah, open beta is commencing soon for two weeks before the actual release in stores... a good time to test out the game before purchasing. Now if I can only get that 2GB installer down...
Is the beta open only for North america, australia and NZ? No Philippines? o and would this game work smoothly in a 1.33 ghz pb standard? [Edited on 11-9-2004 by Jumbo]
Dang again! Just got through but I still can't download the game. It says that download expired?! man...
Created my account and getting the installer from a friend who just finished downloading locally here...
Can I borrow the installer? I think I'll finish the download when the game's already released at the rate I'm downloading it.
I know, my download speeds is very slowwwwwwww.Ive been downloading for eight hours and I only finished 325mb! [Edited on 11-10-2004 by daxdagr8t]
Hi, I'm not sure how well the connection will be from HK to Philippines, I'm actually getting a burned DVD from my friend instead of downloading it... Any of ya have an FTP server I can try to upload to?
This game is coming out on Nov. 23, and for those without credit cards, Blizzard is going to be selling pre-paid cards. There's a conspiracy here darnit, I won't be able to finish my thesis anymore Octoberian here I come.
after 24 hours of downloading this game I only have 1012mb downloading, this is killing me! so guys what classes/race are ru planning to be and maybe we can group on some of the quest and stuff.
Hiya, I'm on Pacific time + normal game + test 30 server... name's "Redshoes". If I don't reply when you message me (/tell <name> <message> command)... I might be in a fight or just missed ur tell coz I'm still getting used to the interface... level 5 gnome warlock now.
I so envy you!Ive just reached the halfway mark, i hope i can play tomorrow when i get home from school or ill be pissed realy realy bad.
I've been playing around with it for the last 2 hrs. and I've been having fun. Have you tried dancing? That was a lot of fun. I haven't had much time to do much else, except do the Kobold Cleanup quest, but I think I like it... I may have finally found something to replace Ultima Online, which I can't play since there is no Mac client... I do get a bit of lag with the video rendering, maybe reducing the resolution will help. H
Initially it was quite laggy for me (framerate wise) in towns, but after switching to windowed mode which I actually prefer to play in while browsing the internet or chatting on iChat, the framerate seems to have improved a lot. Finished a few simple quests for some gloves, boots and dagger rewards as well as get my pet spell... still need to find my friends online as we all seem to be scattered in different towns due to race/class selections. If you see a shortie named Redshoes with green hair and beard, say hi! arty:
