I was happily mucking about PhilMUG looking for a RSS Widget, I found randytamayo's PhilMUG widget but it wasn't working for me on 10.4.9 at least. Too bad, really didn't have much use for RSS readers like NetNewsWire etc. since I really only visit a handful of sites, might as well reinvent the wheel. I'm currently developing on Macs anyway and thought I'd make my own PhilMUG RSS widget as a learning experience, I'm developing on Cocoa anyway so I might as well learn to do Dashboard widgets to tie into my app, so I dove into it since I figured that I was versed on javascript and CSS it wouldn't be too hard, I then realized that I'd downloaded DashCode Beta a few months before. I fired it up for the first time and behold, there was a template for an RSS reader... Ah well rather than waste time I just used the template... so much for wheel reinventing. Here's a screen shot: Nothing fancy here I didn't have any higher resolution images to play around with anyway. It just works as expected. It took me all of twenty minutes.
