    Hello Mac users!
I would like to know which file & folder encryption software do you guys recommend. Preferrably a freeware. Thanks.

One thing you can do is create an encrypted disk image. Open Disk Utility and click on "New Image", Change the volume size to the maximum size you think you'll need. Choose 128-bit AES encryption (or the slower, but more secure 256-bit AES encryption). You can also change the image format from "read/write" to "sparse disk image".

A sparse disk image will start out empty and expand as you add more file into it, up to the maximum volume size you set when you created the disk image. Take note, a sparse disk image will not shrink again even when you delete files from the disk image later on.

To use the encrypted disk image, you just double-click on it and enter the password (don't have Keychain remember the password if you want to be more secure). It then mounts as if it was just another drive. Once you're done with the disk image, just eject it.
