You can play OS9 games if you enabled classic support when you were installing OS X. Diablo 2 is one such game that is supposed to run under an OS9 environment.

You can check System Preferences -> System and check if the "Classic" icon is there. If it is, no problem - go ahead and run your OS 9 apps/games. If not, it's time to run your installer disk.

I'm sure my wife Cokeycyn would agree that the best game out there for Mac right now is the almighty, all-conquering World of Warcraft. Do a search for it on the MUG and you'll get more info on the game and the MUGGers that play it.
