I was doing some house cleaning of the files in my laptop when I checked on What size application and found out I only had around 11gb disc memory remaining.

    120 gb hard disk
    - 91+gb mac
    - 21+ gb windoze

    of the 90gb,
    30.00gb pictures
    12.70gb library
    8.72gb applications
    3.98gb system
    5.27gb movies
    3.50gb music
    2.34gb documents

I still have lots of pictures and music to import but hard disk space will surely be a problem.
Is there any problem with this, aside from the fact that i had to alot 20gb for windos :) hehe or should i start considering the hard disks charlie if offerring?

Care to give an idea of your disk usage?

    223.90GB Used
    73.87GB Free

And this is after I freed up space by moving some TV Shows out of my iTunes folder and onto and external. Before doing that I was down to 14.56GB Free Space.

Not really 320GB. Like me, it's only 298 (297.77) GiB of usable space.

I just notice now that the total is 465gb. But my HD is a 500giger. There's a difference of 35gb. I have an unusable space of 35gb!? Where did this possibly go?

    @essay:

HDD companies in marketing their products count a Gigabyte as 1,000,000,000 bytes.

However in computer file sizes (as an OS reads it), an actual Gigabyte is 1,073,741,824 bytes.

    This accounts for the shortfall.

This is the same reason why a 120GB iPod doesn't actually have 120GB worth of useable space.

Edit: Go to this page and scroll down to "Consumer Confusion" for a fuller explanation>>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigabyte
