I see this thread is active again. Here's something I posted on the topic three years ago (page 5!), which seems worth reposting

i normally pick my gas based on the credit card i use. Would like to use the Shell Citi Card, but they dont waive annual fees, so im now using HSBC CC, for Caltex...

I'm using seaoil's extreme 97. Luckily, the branch near my workplace still offer a 1 peso discount, buendia branch on the other hand ended theirs. ;)

There are those who suggest that using premium gas is advisable in older cars i.e. 4 years old or more. Is this true? :)

nowadays i go for unleaded gasoline of 'cleanfuel' gas station, for the sole reason that it's the cheapest out there. :)

Shell Unleaded is giving my car randoms engine knocks so I switched to Caltex Gold and never experienced the knock offs again.

There are cricket sounds when I fill-up my 86 with Shell V-Power Nitro+ Racing so I use Petron Blaze. For my truck, I use Unioil Diesel, Euro 4 compliant.

I am pretty sure I've used almost all types of fuel (including those from small pumps in the province) for the past few years. My current daily driver is a 2.4L midsize sedan. Free company fuel comes in the form of Caltex Gold. So-so performance. I'm happiest when the allotted fuel runs out, since I can have my ride filled with either Petron Blaze (100 octane) or Shell V-Power Nitro+ Racing. Between the two, I would be more inclined to pick the latter. Car responds perfectly and I have to say, drives noticeably faster.

I use Petron Turbo Diesel or Diesel Max.

So glad they've shifted to Euro IV.

Any Diesel fuel from any brand, in its pure form, should not cause your engine to stall. It's likely due to impurities that were inadvertently introduced during distribution or at the station's storage tanks.

I've been using PTT diesel for past 2.5 years with great fuel economy(9.8km/L up and down Antipolo) but my last 2 tanks with them, I only got 8.8km/L. I was really surprised since there was hardly any traffic during that time.

I have been avoiding the big 3 but on my next 3 tanks, I filled up with FuelSave(got 9.3km/L) and VPowerDiesel( got 9.5km/L and 9.8km/L). I'll go back to PTT on my next tank to see if there is something wrong with their current diesel batch.
