Check out AudialHub. From the same great folks who brought us VisualHub. It's very, very easy to use. They have a free demo, and it's very affordable at $18.81 ($14.41 is you already have VisualHub).

THanks, but I tried downloading and using it on a trial version and upon converting a file, it only converted for a trial version of 1 minute per song. Funny!!!

From the menu bar click iTunes> Preferences
    > Advanced
    tab
    > Importing
    tab

Choose your preferred file format from the Import Using dropdown menu
    Click Ok

Select the item/s you wish to convert then right-click on them
    > Convert Selection to ...

After the convertion, right-click on any of the selected item/s
    > Show in Finder

Finder window appears wherein the converted item/s are displayed along with the original item/s

    Goodluck!

XLD and Xact are free apps for audio conversion. Just change the settings in Preferences.
