What does a separator do in firefox?

    Ctrl-clicking on the bookmark bar in Firefox gives one the option of adding a separator. Anybody out there who knows what its for? How does one get rid of it?
    Attempting to drag it off the toolbar doesn't seem to work.

    I think it's just a way of organizing your bookmarks. You can remove via Bookmarks - Manage Bookmarks. Just select the separator and click on the delete icon above. :)
