What exactly do you use your macbook or macbook pro for? I'm asking this because I hope you're using it productively and not just to show off and chat or watch youtube videos at starbucks
Well I use it for projects and presentations, but of course my baby is not always used that way. I also watch movies, chat and do it. I don't show it off but I do when I bring it outside.
i use mine to play pet society on facebook. others see my pet, koaley cub, giggling and visiting other people's pets. i hang out in coffee shops mostly (not starbucks, tho, too cramped most of the time). i hope people don't get an inferiority complex just 'cause i'm using a mac. (note the sentences above, dripping with sarcasm. hehe)
Oh, I forgot to say! I bring it to school everyday and sits at the teacher's table and haggle the wifi of my school. Which is surprisingly fast! All of this done with colleagues staring at me. gMask design is also a plus if you want a head-turner.
I NEED to use it more... pretty much only using my MBP for remote desktop to control my macpro when im in bed or something.
presentations using keynote, papers using ms word, and work stuff using iwork. plus of course web surfing and a little photoshop of the photos i take.
Mostly for presentations, lectures, surfing on (In)Visibility or Wi-fi and the occasional CS3 manipulation/editing while I'm out of the studio. My desktop Mac is the workhorse and does most of the heavy lifting work-wise.
I use my macbook for projects and such. it's very relaxing when you're doing you're project in a different environment *sigh* so i decided to buy a macbook and use it for such purpose
I use it to program in PHP and Perl on remote servers through SSH using VI editor. Also, programming in C with GCC and ./configure, make, and make install. I also use VMWare to run various flavors of Linux servers for simulating production environments of clustered and distributed systems.
I use my Macbook when I don't want to feel like I'm working and get a break from my Windows Office Laptop which is right at my face from Monday to Friday . Ironic though that I still have Windows installed on it via VMWare. I use if for browsing the net, photo and video editing. Inadvertently showing off is one of it's main features .
I use it for chatting, surfing, listening to music and watching videos.. I also use it for gaming, photography, some video editing, graphics.. It also serves as my companion and friend.. Haha..
-music production/sound engineering,cs3,a bit of video editing and of course some games on bootcamp...others are the basics(internet, watching movies, keynote presentations etc...)
MBP: internet, email, organizer, photo/video/music work, writing, presentation, some graphics work...
my MBP is my main computer. with personal and proffessional active files. back ups are on Time capsule. suppose to wait for the new imac but i figure for the same price why not get a Laptop which i can show off rahter than sits in your desk.
The nice thing about Macs is that they serve both as a conversation piece and art of sorts that you can actually do something with. Mine is a media center, internet kiosk, tech support device, workstation, planner, cellphone (via BPE2) and test environment. My showoff piece is the Lenovo S10 running OSX, hehe.
