One's legal, the other's not. You probably can't update the Illegal copy as well.

Depends on what you mean by "fake." Most copies circulating the web are rips of the genuine dvd. Functionally they are one and the same. Installations can be Software Updated.

ISOs meant for "hackintosh" pcs are patched versions of OS X. These install bootloaders (e.g- Chameleon) and kext files necessary to boot OS X and run on unsupported machines. Please not that discussions of their use is prohibited in this forum.

Some copies are same as the original. Some are patched versions. It is ok to ask about the difference. But we cannot discuss where to get the copies, how to use them, and how they perform. Arguing on its legitimacy is useless. In all forums, site owner rules prevail. Take it or leave it. As a newbie, it is best not to push the wrong buttons. Go with the flow and make good use of this forum. There is much to learn.

a copy is just the same as the original, it will work just the same as the original... if you're creating an illegal copy then that's considered piracy and is not allowed to be discussed here.

Technically, they are the same but INTELLECTUALLY, they are far different...

Original vs. Fake = Right vs. Wrong; Good vs. Evil

    Which side you're on?

.......it can't be discussed here because it is part of PHILMUG's policy. READ the guidelines. It is the yellow rectangular icon between user cp and stolen/lost.
