Okay, let's see how many hands are there among us "warped" macbook pro owners (so we'll see if this is a regular thing or some Apple conspiracy) 1. hitme64 - MBP 2.5Ghz 2Gb 250G hdd 2.

close it then look at the left and right edges. chances are good that the edges wont be flush to the lower case.

I noticed that most MBPs I've seen are slightly "warped." One side is a few millimeters higher than the other. I thought it's normal.
Guys just a question...Do you close the lid while the keyboard is hot? Cause I think the lid becomes "warped" when you close it while its still hot. For me, before I close the lid I let the keyboard cool down for a while. My MBP will turn 1 year this Aug. but my lid still looks good as new. Just my observation....

Its only slightly warped, though I estimate that for the discerning eye, it would be about 2 milimeters.
I just recently knew that lid warping is an issue, it didnt even bother me for 6 months and i tought its just normal. Ill take a warp lid instead of a nasty scratch anytime.
I mentioned this before but I have seen cases in other Mac forums where the owners of warped MBPs were able to correct the warping by clipping on a hardshell such as a Speck case. I guess the speck hard shell somewhat acted like a brace for the MBP. I also remember reading a review where the owner of a warped MBP placed some heavy books on top of the MBP to flatten the lid. I'm not sure if this is advisable but the reviewer claimed that it corrected the problem.
putting on the speck didn't "correct" the slight warp though, but it sort of hid it instead...i'll take that rather than a nasty scratch or dent, ditto suavecito..
i saw a blog where the writer placed a piece of popsickle stick near at the front end, closed the lid then placed books on top. he said the problem got corrected temporarily. the lid would eventually warp back. i tried it and left the books ( a couple of hefty hard bounds)overnight, didnt work. the warping used to bother me a lot but i guess i learned to live with it.

err... newbie... what is a "warped" MBP? Is this the case where the closed MBP has a gap on each side where one side has a higher gap than the other? is the speck case the plastic hardshell covering (the counterpart of crystal cases in cellphones)?
