If you want to buy something as expensive as an iPhone, you might as well get it from authorized resellers. I mean if you could only save about Php2,000 to Php4,000 if you buy from the grey market, it doesn't make sense if the price of the item is around Php20,000 to Php30,000. Think of that Php2,000 or Php4,000 that you haven't saved as insurance of buying a quality product + assurance that you can return it if defective.

Anyway, if you want a Philmug discount go to Digital Hub.

Expensive gadgets, buy authentic. Accessories, GH will do.

I only buy Apple products from authorized resellers, in my case, iStudio. As for the iPhones, its either you buy from Globe or take a big risk in buying from other sources.

I have made it a point to not buy from the stalls. Personally, I don't want to risk it. Sell your old stuff to them, if you wish, but as has been proven by the posts here, some of their prices are too good to be true.

You could use the stalls to check on what the "going rate" is for the grey market though.

September is upon us. Wait for the usual September event from Apple, and at the same time, know if Steve will still be making the keynote speech or will he relinquish it to his successor, Tim Cook. And although the past three years have seen the iPod Touch released in September, the first gen actually was released in February. ;)

Here is what I use to check when was the last time a certain Apple product was refreshed. :)

I won't really recommend selling stuff to them as they tend to give really low rates especially for trade ins. They need to make some profit after all. Better sell it at the market place or directly to the buyer though auction sites like Tipidpc or Sulit.

If you don't mind Globe locked iPhones that is. For those who do not travel abroad frequently, the gray market is the only place one can buy factory unlocked iPhones.

I personally have no qualms buying through the gray market if needed but you need to know what to check.

Actually when your buying an Apple product brand new or 2nd hand you can call Apple Philippines to verify the Serial Number and get some information about the device before purchasing it.

If i'm not mistaken there's specific apple website where you can check it 24/7. the hotline has office-hours.

I think this is the one: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

When buying stuff online whether it is tipidpc, sulit, ebay, etc., always be vigilant, ask questions and communicate with the seller and most importantly, check the feedback record. Make sure that others got a positive experience from the seller and if buying high ticket items, check for the sellers sold item history.

    Buying at Greenhills?

    Two maxims come to mind:

    Caveat emptor.

    and

You get what you pay for.
