First off, I've been using VLC for MORE THAN ONE YEAR NOW, running it with Sun Internet, YM, Vuze, Safari, Firefox and a lot of other programs - no problem. Then, recently, I bought a new battery and new power adaptor, and suddenly (I don't know if this is the cause) the videos seemed to lag. At first it was mild, let me rewind it a bit. But now, it's MAJOR LAG, let me restart VLC. I have the latest version. It doesn't matter if I'm playing a video from my external hard drive/in my harddrive, it lags like...URGH. Frustration. (It doesn't lag though if I don't continually pause, cmd-f, check e-mail, restart, cmd-f. But the thing is I do need VLC to just run in the background while I'm working. HELP?)
what are the specs of your computer? try to download & use VLC 8.6 (i I think), see if it performs better...
Try resetting the PRAM or the SMC because you have a new battery. VLC works fine and I'm running a ton of apps.
I have the current version of VLC 1.0.3 but can't play .vob files. any other player that can play?thanks
I had issues with a big high-def file (14+GB) that no software could handle, not vlc, not plex. It would play, but it would refuse to fast-forward or to random-access a scene. Not anymore. Just downloaded vlc 1.1.0 and it handles the file easily.
nice 1.1.0! if fast forward & random access is not working again in the future, just give vlc some time - it may be buffering either due to large file size or decoding...
hi. question, i replaced my battery but i did not encountered any problems. should i reset the PRAM and SMC? thanks
My Macbook kept on spitting out a CD that I need to transcribe. Then someone suggested that I install VLC first. That worked, and my Macbook read the CD file using VLC. THAT WAS SATURDAY NIGHT. TODAY (Sunday) it's still spitting out the CD, even if Im able to run VLC. I've already re-installed VLC 3 or 4 times, still spits out the CD. Has anyone encountered this problem? Help!
