Although it does not seem to work with 10.4
About bloody time. I'm tired of having my AppUpdate Widget constantly telling me to update to 1.0.0RC4 when I already have RC4 installed.
can someone please tell me why I would want to upgrade to this version from .92?
Because 1.0 is newer than 0.92 Seriously, as a rule-of-thumb, it's a good idea to use the latest version of an app. At the very least, bug fixes are usually integrated in later releases. Here are some of the features of 1.0 (from the VLC homepage):
Free, Open Source and cross-platform
Independant of systems codecs to support most video types
Instant pausing and Frame-by-Frame support
Finer speed controls
New HD codecs (AES3, Dolby Digital Plus, TrueHD, Blu-Ray Linear PCM, Real Video 3.0 and 4.0, ...)
New formats (Raw Dirac, M2TS, ...) and major improvements in many formats...
New Dirac encoder and MP3 fixed-point encoder
Video scaling in fullscreen
RTSP Trickplay support
Zipped file playback
Easier encoding GUI in Qt interface
Better integration in Gtk environments
MTP devices on linux
New skin for the skins2 interface
how do you activate these two?
Thanks for the heads up! VLC is always the one I use to handle WMV files. Hope it outperforms the previous versions.
Hey, thanks! This is one of my all-time favorite Mac apps.
i'l update VLC once Snow Leopard runs into my system..nyahaha!
Thanks for the heads up.
thanks. they took their sweet time... haha
Coolness! Downloading now! Thanks!
can't seem to see the update using Check update of VLC...
VLC is very stable with the version 1.0 release. Lots of other things have also been fixed. You can do live previews like Quicktime.
whoa, live previews! this would make different video formats work more seamless with our macs!
time for update
wow thanks for sharing... downloading it now!
I wonder if it's possible to stream media from this version of VLC to the PS3.. Anyone know?
I updated mine last weekend thru AppFresh, haven't tried the new features though..
downloaded it already. does anyone know how to set it up for airtunes?
Thanks for the heads up!
