Why don't you just rip the audio off of the video?

    Quicktime Pro can.
    1. Press ⌘+E
    2. Under Export: choose Sound to AIFF or Sound to WAV or Sound to AU
    3. Click Options for further configuration
    4. Click Save
EDIT: Unfortunately, no mp3 convertion, but you may convert AIFF/WAV/AU via iTunes Create MP3 Version.

Maybe you can use iSquint to turn the FLV into an MP4 first... then run it through QT Pro :)

    Use VLC - download here

I don't have an .flv right now but I have done this before. Just open the flv on VLC then use the Streaming/Transcoding Wizard and follow the instructions.

here's an easier one, use mpeg Streamclip - here

Open your flv file then File - Export Audio - choose your format (AIFF, MP4 ACC or MP2)

There's no direct encoding to mp3 so just encode the m4a using iTunes.

Now, here's the simplest way to do those converts.
    1. Get TubeTV - automatically converts flv files to desired formats compatible to QT Pro (as you DL them)
    2. QT Pro - converts it to AIFF/WAV/AU files
    3. iTunes - converts them to mp3.
I'm sure you'll never go wrong with these. Happy downloading!
