Mmm....very good price points......but it will be a year or two before it becomes a compelling upgrade (price and content availability). In the meantime, I wonder how porn will look on a 4K set ;). The porn industry is always on the forefront of taking advantage of new technology.

Xiaomi just announced a 49inch 4K TV at RMB 3,999.00 (approx SGD 800.00)...

I'm hoping they sell it outside of China...

Not yet. Not here. We're 5 years behind on adoption (DTV isn't even here yet). By the time 4K TVs are within my price range, U.S. and other western countries will be enjoying the next iteration and we'll see our cable providers advertise 4K channels. Hopefully, the gap will be closed.

Can't wait for the xiaomi 4k tv. That's so cheap compared to other brands.

I have seen in person the 84" 4K TV of Sony in one of their showrooms here and it is AMAZING!

Content is true 4K and not some upscaled clips.

The experience is really larger than life and you have to see it for yourself to fully absorb what i'm tryin to say here.

But for $20,000 i'd just get a 4K-ready projector and some nice 120" screen.

I've been burned buying hardware for which there is little software (D-VHS, anyone?). So what's on the horizon for software?

About pricing: No worries. CDR King will figure this thing out.

4K would be awesome for computer use. 32-inch 4k iMac anyone? For TV and movies I'd think a decade before it becomes as widespread as 1080p Full HD is available today.

For 4K tvs ranging up to 80inches, I believe that retina (or beyond 140ppi) iMacs are just around the corner. :)

^ there are some but very few. breaking bad can be watched in 4k as well as house of cards. sony has more or less 100 movies in native 4k. the problem is the 4k format - it is hd wars (and vha-betamax) all over again

oh and you can stream 4k from netflix and youtube too :D

I'm curious on how 4K videos taken by mobile phones will look like on a 4K TV...
