Theres another shawarma place thats run and managed personally by its turkish owner Jacob's Shawarma. Tried it, its not your regular shawarma in taste, shape, and size.
Ey I heard this guy on Boys Night Out! Real funny, I didn't get the info right away though! Where is his shop exactly at? I really wanna try it.
g/f of the building adjacent to the building that house chefs and brewers on sapphire street. Its open 24 hours. Jacob is actually a nice guy and very accomodating to the guests. He may sound like Borat, but on the two occasions that I ate at his place - it was full of call center ladies. Go figure.
We made sure to taste the Shawarma when we went to Istanbul. Different from Mr kebab but i have yet to try Turk's
Does anyone know Turk's branches, aside from SM Sta. Mesa? It's too far from my place. I've tried Turk's shawarma. The beef is a bit sweet but tasty. They also add melted cheese on the shawarma, aside from the garlic and hot sauces. Eyelavet. Yum yum.
finally got too try it! Definitely nothing like the persian shawarmas we have all around manila. I can't quite put it to words to describe it, but in a gist Jacob's shawarma had more herbs into it which went well when showered with some fresh lemon squeeze also provided. It's only chicken though, but still good. The sauce is surely something else compared to the garlic sauce we know of for shawarmas. I liked it cuz it was about twice as long, the pita bread was huge. Give it a try it's definitely worth the experience. I got the spicy sauce so that was fun. hehe
Any other place where i can get a shawarma that is not sweet? Shawarma nowadays tastes almost like our usual pinoy-barbecue-on-stick.
I agree, shawarmas here taste almost like tocinos. I have yet to find the most authentic tasting shawarmas locally.
