Two new malware for Mac OS X were recently discovered. Even though there are indeed relatively fewer Mac malware compared with Windows, many Mac users who still believe they are somehow magically immune from attacks may run the risk of encountering any of these two. One of the newest Mac OS X malware, a Trojan detected as OSX_RSPLUG.C may be unknowingly downloaded by a user while visiting malicious websites. The said websites encourage users to download a software that is needed to play a promised hardcore pornographic video, which is actually a Trojan that renders your computer easy prey to hackers. It arrives as a .DMG file and contains a .PKG file. fire up your safari and go to www.opendns.com. There are instructions on how to alter your computer's dns setting. Search philmug for opendns. It has been extensively discussed. Once you've registered (opendns), you can use their filtering setting and keep out porn sites automatically when you're browsing (its brings up a redirect screen). By and large, porn sites are loaded with all sort of malwares. I'm using opendns on my peecee and my MBA. As for Trojans, its a U.S. brand of condoms
And on other news, Microsoft announced that 2,360,0234,9583 new trojans, viruses and other malware discovered today for all versions of Windows. According to a Microsoft spokesman, "We are currently working on a fix and will be included for free in the upcoming exciting new Windows 7."
