hi, sorry if this has been asked before -- tried the search function (and google!) but came up empty handed :(

i've been using bits on wheels ever since i got a mac and it's worked for me without a hitch...until sometime last week, that is. it keeps telling me it can't connect to host. i tried downloading other clients as well: u torrent, vuze, transmission, tomato...all the same thing. the download refuses to start. :( what do i do?

maybe your router is blocking the port being used by your torrent client?

    thanks for the quick replies!

wildcard: there are a lot of seeders actually, my download was already at 92% when i left home then when i got back, it'd stopped. :(

vr4_211: how does that work? i'm using a wireless router and haven't changed any settings at all ever since..

you may have to set up a static ip address for your mac and enable port forwarding for your torrent client in your router interface. check on www.portforward.com for more information.

i got this same problem, torrent download works fine using my windows laptop, but not in my mbp using any torrent client.. on utorrent, it says "connection status unavailable" besides the incoming TCP port box on preferences.
