Do you find that Apple's QuickTime Player plays movies with the volume too low, even when set to maximum? Aside from using another player like VLC, you can quickly boost QuickTime Player's maximum volume by hitting shift-up arrow several times after you've set it to maximum volume (do it while the movie's playing). This will significantly increase the maximum volume of the currently playing movie.

thank you for this tip! In the newbie meet, I was complaining to Patrick about how weal the volume of QT us that I would have to resort to using VLC just so that I could pump th volume of movies up, especially when doing demos. This feature has become essential for me. Thank you@
