i tried searching for this, but it seems it isn't posted yet.

i came across this application which makes the interface of cocoa applications crystal clear (almost), same as what shapeshifter had done for tiger. but this one is compatible with Leopard (Yey!).

    it can be found here:

    http://www.musingsfrommars.org/

i know a lot of you are hesitant on using installing this on leopard but it seems to work fine. i actually tried it myself (after a short prayer, just in case). It isn't perfect but it works well. it changed safari, sys prefs, the utility apps, etc.

note: since it only affects cocoa applications, finder, itunes, etc. stays untouched.

I thought this would be really cool and all, so I went ahead and downloaded it and everything. Unfortunately I didn't like it for me and I noticed it kinda slowed my mac down. Sayang! But thanks for sharing!

Running fine on my MBP, will feel it out for a week, if I don't like it, I'll just chuck it in the trash. :)

was the slowing down considerable? i'm thinking in installing it in my mba. can you describe how it slowed down your system? what programs are you running?

    thanks!

a few lags are noticeable.. like in safari, scrolling is not that smooth anymore.. it lags a bit.. opening apps takes about half a sec longer.. IMHO, it's not that huge a deal.. unless you really rely on application performance down to the smallest detail..

there are still a lot of rough edges (literally and metaphorically).. like the edges of safari aren't straight.. some texts are hard to read on dark wallpapers, etc.

i highly recommend that you try it though.. i installed and uninstalled it a couple of times and everything went back to normal.. just as long as you use the installer package to uninstall it..
