dang, you're right. when searching for the time of airing of the abominable bride, saw an episode airing on Jan 5 without noticing it was 2014. what a downer. thought i had 3 episodes to look forward to.
I have to admit I didn't like The Abominable Bride...and I detest that they would revert this Sherlock back to the Victorian era...why?
I agree. The "what if?" aspect was what really caught my eye. Amazon touted it as their most streamed/watched series ever so I was wary if it's just hype. They also got added attention thanks to the promotional gimmick they did in NYC wherein they adorned some subway cars with Third Reich regalia. A lot of people weren't pleased but you know what they say about bad publicity. ================= Anyone here excited about the continuation of Suits Season 5? It's January 27, right?
This is the burning question that awaits us at the conclusion of The Man in the High Castle...is he Adolf Hitler himself? Why would he be the sender of these alternate world films to the Resistance? Is he doing them some favor over the impending doom that may ensue once he finally dies? Is he doing it to prevent nuclear holocaust (Remember the 2nd film?)?
No, Dick Winters was promoted to Major by the end of WWII and remained well-loved and respected by his Band of Brothers.
No one else caught The Shannara Chronicles pilot? I thought there'd be more Fantasy-Scifi geeks in this forum. Looks like a pretty good adaptation. I hope they do justice to the Terry Brooks series. EDIT: John Rys-Davies going from dwarf to elf has gotten some mixed reactions it appear.
Ey get this, Carrie Mathison is in Master of None and her dialogue with Dev goes like this: Carrie/Nina: Hey, maybe you can work under me (looks at Dev while licking lips) Dev: (Thinking Brody in Homeland also"worked under Carrie") Ahhhh... Classic, Funny...
I read somewhere that this series has been canned. Along with a few other middle eastern themed shows, like American Oddyssey & Jack Black's Brink..
^i agree @greta87 it just died a natural death as it went on and on...their death knell was rung when they took out Brody, and now Quinn... EDIT: Here's the list of TV shows debuting/continuing in 2016 (Mid-Season):
Mr. Robot wins Best TV Drama Series at the Golden Globes...woohoo! and Christian Slater wins Best Supporting Actor for a TV Series Drama...double woohoo! Too bad Rami Malek lost out to Jon Hamm...sayang
I must admit, Homeland was more interesting when the plot still involved Brody -- a US Marine who "turned" -- and only a handful of people knew about his status and plans. It's what made the series different for me, as compared to the usual CIA vs terrorists shows. The recently-concluded season had a touch of that in Allison. However, it wasn't as gripping as the Brody storyline.
The Blacklist returned January 8, but it hasn't been up to par this season...and Red's vendetta against The Cabal has been, frankly, tiresome...
Shadowhunters is ok (based on the book mortal instruments). I just find the lead character playing Clary Fray quite irritating :/
