It probably depends on the quality of your USB extension. Tested this before by installing an app that checks the charging current on my android phone. When connected directly to a wall charger, it shows charging current of 1200 - 1800 mA, however, when I connect it via usb extension to the same charger, it only shows average charging current of 450 - 500 mA.

Brought a yoobao 20kmAH to my carry-on bag and never had a problem with security check on airports. I also(accidentally)had it check-in with no problem. I think if you're carrying or planning to bring any battery or powerbank, you must put it in your carry-on luggage. I just don't know whats their mAH limit with powerbank so i think, its better if you give them a call to verify directly with them(airline company).

@gearbox, I use the Galaxy Charging Current App, not sure if it will work on non-galaxy devices though.

i just ordered an anker 2nd gen e4 13000, currently using the xiaomi power bank 10400 and 5200 and very happy with both. only drawback is neither cant charge multiple devices at the same time, thus i want to get a multiple port unit, and because of the feedback of this brand on this thread i decided to try this new anker model.

Anyone knows why Astro 3 is more expensive than the E4 aside from the 3 USB ports? :)

my guess for the extra cost would be the additional port and no button - just shake design.
