The high power usage of our iPhone 5s has led many of us to use power banks, so it may be a good idea to tell us which ones you're using--brand, capacity, cost. I have a HuntKey 4400 mah, very compact, which I got at Trinoma for P1.5k. Even better, I found an 11200 mah power bank on eBay, also very compact, for just $30. It's still being shipped to me, though.

Mmmm....I am still using my 4 year old Hyperdrive (the very same that Apple, Inc. took down for illegally modifying the magsafe for use with the device). Although it is no longer effective in recharging my MBA, I still use it for recharging smaller devices. What I wish for is for chemical batteries that the Japanese have been developing to be released within the coming year. Said batteries can be recharged to 90% capacity within 5 minutes.

I am also thinking of buying one to power my iPhone and iPad. What is a good brand and where are these available locally?

i had one of those mophie juice packs before that seem to have gone AWOL on my desk...as for the ip5 i haven't had the time to look for one, simply because i've shut off all cellular data usage that has allowed the phone to last approximately 2-3 days without recharging...

charlie paw tells me that they carry an ibattz external battery rated at over 7000 mah and it sells for only around 2K at digital walker and BTB. i would've gotten one but they were out of stock at trinoma, so i got the huntkey from the gadgets place just outside digital walker instead.

just as an aside, i used to use a mophie juice pack with my IP4s, but the problem (i imagine) with these extended batteries that also function as iphone cases is that (1) they really bulk up the phone and (2) with the IP5 being (reportedly) so prone to scuffing, i don't think i'd like it to be moving in and out of a mophie case that frequently. that's why i opted for an external charger or power bank that i can leave in the car or stick in my bag, for use when i need it.
