dropping by MAC tonight to have a look of the new macbook air. is it worth it?? or i'd rather buy the macpro? oh anyway..
Thanks, arkane! Will have to check those out next time.
@bride: Whether the Air or Pro is "worth it" depends on your needs. Maybe you can list down your needs and the others here can help you decide.
just ordered the 13-inch i5 256GB!
Also just ordered but the 11-inch i7, 4 GB RAM, 256 GB HDD!
Would you recommend a good matte screen? I'm planning to get one soon but since I work around lights/outdoors I think I need to do something about that super glossy screen..
I got the same configuration but it's stuck in customs
How long has your wait been? Mine is scheduled to arrive on the 16th.
just pulled the trigger on a BTO MBA11" - i7, 4gb RAM, 25gb SSD... time to sell my MBP13... ;o)
mine left shanghai july 30. It's been in customs a couple of days.
It's been 5 days since I ordered a MBA 11" BTO from sir Charlie. I'm excited and anxious at the same time. I never had or used a Mac before in my life. I'm pretty good at going around Windows and I've made all my PCs look like it was using a Mac OS. But the capabilities, speed and sheer appeal of the new MBA has really tempted me to take the Mac plunge. Plus the awesome prices of sir Charlie. Once I get my MBA, I'm pretty sure I'll be asking a lot of questions in this forum
M a pc guy as well i told myself i will only buy a mac unless really cheap but o got tempted with the air. But i dont have any regrets. Really like the lightness of the air. As for its windows perfor, ance index i saw on youtube the 11.6" inch it has a rating of 5.9 i think thats not a bad lappy at all
Just fire ayaw ReyMatt.

Ah so this is a follow up on the i5 vs i7 debate.
I got a portable HD to backup my files in my PC in preparation for transfer to MBA. I think it's in NTFS(?) format. Will the MBA be able to read it?
^^ you can transfer the data to your mac but i doubt you can write data from mac to the external.
You can read/write to an external NTFS-formatted drive. You'll need to install NTFS-3G for Mac OS X.
Paragon NTFS 9.0 works well with Lion. Cost less than Lion.
how come i do not see DVD sharing in my mba?
system preferences > sharing
i could see my PC in Shared in Finder, i could copy files as well.. do i need to set the PC's dvd drive to be shared for it to work? do i need to install a software on my pc first?
