Wow, these people are good...finally got the MacBook back with NO, repeat NO cost at all...

The Apple Service people just reset the unit and run it for 24 hours and pwalah, all is well...

New job, practically new MacBook...great combo!

now only three, and the settings for the three finger drag seems to be missing... (After a quick Google, the option for 3 finger drag can be activated under Accessibility in Systems Preferences.
    [/QUOTE]

I've been losing my mind the past few weeks I've been using this thing without the 3 finger drag! Thank you for this info :)

Hi, Im setting up my new macbook 12 purchased from btb openbox sale. I was able to update the osx to the latest but I cannot update iWork apps. It says it's because it was purchased by a different account or was refunded/cancelled. Aren't iWork apps bundled with macs for free?

Im also trying to make the facetime camera work. Photobooth and facetime say that there's no camera attached. Googled solutions dont work or maybe i dont know because all involve terminal operation. Can anyone help me on that?

I think the iwork apps are free for the apple id that was first logged in into the account... not sure if they have changed the policy now but that was how i got mine, i logged in for the first time on a new macbook and the iwork apps were already tied to my apple id ever since and no problem updating them

I can't help with the camera but as for the iWork apps...

The exact thing happened to me when I got my Mac. the iWork apps were already downloaded by the previous owner so I couldn't re-download them under my Apple ID. When I attempted to download the Pages app from the app store, I was charged the usual price for the app. So what I did was I contacted Apple support (I couldn't remember if it was via phone or e-mail) and told them my problem. not long after they gave me codes to get the iWork apps for free and refunded me for the amount I paid for the Pages.

I think I posted this experience of mine several pages back on this thread. just too lazy to look for it. hehe

Edit: here's my post on this particular problem I had back then. FYI

    Thanks.

I found this in the apple support page and tried to download iwork apps from the apps store to my iP5s. I was able to download all of them last night even if the apps were priced accordingly. I dont have credit card details in my apple account so i guess there are free of charge. Im thinking now of uninstalling the iwork apps in the macbook and installing it again from app store (given that I already purchased it for my iphone). I hope it works. I'll do it tonight.

If i'm not mistaken the apps bought from the ios appstore are different from apps bought from the mac appstore your best bet is to do what mongkee did

Hi! Any of you using USB/Multiport hubs? Trying to find alternatives to the Apple-made one. Would appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!
