i finally got the chance to play with one when i dropped by powermac trinoma today. very impressive form factor, and the retina screen of course is killer. i found the new keyboard acceptable, but i still prefer the MBA's more tactile feedback (a big deal for me, who works with a keyboard for many hours every day), and i feel rich with all my MBA's ports. so congrats to all the new macbook owners, it's a gem of a mac, but i'll join you maybe two generations down.
I'm lusting for this product. I can't believe how small/light it is compared to the 11inch MBA. If ever I get one, I'll probably go for the Space Gray version. GANDA!
Hmm... As soon as I've decided to get one, all resellers now don't have stock. I've called all of them, I think, and it looks like there won't be any stock until the end of next week. Maybe it's a sign telling me to think this through a little bit more. Hehehe
Perfect! I was suppose going to ask if someone had already tried to connect it to an external monitor with the av dongle how was it? are you using a single monitor or dual dual monitor? and what's the resolution of the monitor you used? I'm interested to know the performance if it works quite well
I finally got a message from Beyond the Box telling me that my reservation is ready for pick up. Yey! Funny thing was, the guy who texted me quoted me an unbelievably low cash price. If I didn't know better, I would take him up on that.
Almost a month. E-mailed my reservation last May 11. Yesterday, I made another reservation at iStudio at Shangrila because I was quoted a very attractive cash discount. But I checked again today before I responded to BTB and it turns out they made a mistake. I get the same cash discount.
Beyond the Box at Rockwell, iStudio at Shangrila, Switch at Glorietta, and the A Store at Glorietta all have USB-C Digital AV dongles. Checked them all out yesterday because I was looking for the USB-C VGA type. I was informed by BTB that they never had stocks of it ever since so I decided to just buy online at the Apple Store Philippines.
Amazon.com, Kusy keyboard protector. I also got the iBlasson shell. The protector fits quite well, not much play although it does touch the screen a little bit.
It works quite well in either mode, although I have only used it with a full HD projector via HDMI. In conjunction with a HDMI-VGA adapter I have plugged it into projectors and TVs without a problem except for one HP LCD monitor that wouldnt display even if the Macbook sees it (displays the model of the monitor in the preference pane). That is probably an issue with the VGA-HDMI adapter though. Audio will output to HDMI, but you can switch it in the sound settings.
Was able to get 2 macbook units (1 512GB model and 1 256GB model) yesterday from Beyond The Box Virramall and one from studio. Also got the multiport adapter needed for my work. Nice units. I'm enjoying it from a step-down (downgrade) being on a macbook pro Late 2014 model. Portability is really what i need in my line of work
