Okey dokey, the watch is water resistant, rated IPX7. It can be worn during workouts and in the rain. but DO NOT shower, bathe or swim with it. iPhone Killer: The Secret History of the Apple Watch | WIRED
not to burst anyone's bubble, but...i'd rather splurge on the new Casio G-Shock GPW1000 GPS atomic solar hybrid "Gravitymaster" than use an Apple Watch... i can't seem to want a watch that is so pristine and delicate yet its features wouldn't necessarily rival that of a Gshock, except "notify calls and texts and updates"... now, if that AW were a Dick Tracy watch, then that would be a different matter...
I could probably say the same about that G Shock. All those features but can't give me the play by play Giants scores? No thank you [emoji107]
The Verge's review is out: http://youtu.be/noZAqbn92gM Basically, if you are going to get one, get the Sport (cheapest) one. Wait for improvements, and probably get the next version or the next after that.
This is a great hands-on review of the Apple Watch. For people wondering how it'll fit in their life, this one helps. From the New York Times - Dear Diary: My Week Wearing an Apple Watch Leo
Long review but well worth the read. Ten minutes ago, I was convinced I wanted one. Now, not so sure anymore. It seems a lot like a 1.0 device, which it really is anyway. Question becomes whether we can afford to use a 1.0 device as personal as a watch. I guess the Pebble was generally the same way and updates made it more usable. But is the Watch a device worth getting info now or is it better to wait?
Early reviews are out, some reviewer are complaining about the watch notification can be sometime too intrusive, where they can manually adjust it on the settings oi the first place. Apple send those Watches to be reviewed and maybe gain insight to where it can improve. turns out that the tech guy's are just whiny babies who complaints a lot. For a guy like myself who's on the field most of the time, I think I really need this. Can't wait!
I currently have the Pebble Steel but it's not built to work 100% for my iPhone unlike the Apple Watch, it is designed to work with the iPhone 'flawlessly'. I am still on the fence if I am going to get one... but if BTB offers it for 24mons nako... I might cross the fence haha
I may just get the sport version instead of the stainless steel with Milanese strap. Will just spend more for future versions. At least I can still use the that until my Pebble Time Steel arrives.
This is the review of a watch editor who has a lot of time on his hands. But while the devil – or in this case the gods – might be in such detail, where the Apple Watch modifies old habits is its array of options and functions, not to mention fun stuff, that has you glancing at it for much more than just the time. Exclusive: a week with the Apple Watch I'll try not to borrow from a 5-6er to buy an Apple Watch.
A-wrist-ing development: Netflix has a new watch called The Binge Watch. Of course, it's wearable. It's 100% real and not your grandfather's watch anymore, or is it?
mmm.......Apple's Watch for cheap? Someone just figured it out: San Francisco startup Lumoid.com plans to rent the Watch at reasonable prices, from USD45 to 55 for one week and, if the renter decides to purchase, part of the rental fee will be applied to the purchase price. Great way for consumers to test the waters before committing. Clever.
