Hahaha! Noob! Did you take the visor off your helmet? :p

Yeah get sleeveless tops for multisport events because the body marking is always on the upper arm and the calves. Sure thing on the wheels! I just installed a set of HED's on Steve's bike yesterday. NICE! You're next :)

Hahah I at least managed to get myself a decent roadie helmet naman. Now to find a sleeveless jersey.

HEDs! What model did he get? Sarap, team discount yan for sure!

BTW, the SRAM shift/brake levers on Cyn's Spez aren't adjustable for reach no? She loves her bike but she finds the levers a little too far for her small hands daw.

We have Rocket Science, Zoot, Transition 1 and K-Swiss (to match your shoes) tri suits in the store :) (yes, you'll get a discount :))
HED isn't one of our team sponsors but we still gave a discount. and I installed them na din for him :)
I'm not sure about the reach of the levers. what model are they, can you check?

S1 is an awesome ride, my biggest regret was selling mine.

Turns will be tight and fast heading north and since drafting is allowed be mindful of the TT Trains coming in.

Good luck to all the participants

Anyways, anyone here going to Tri United 2 but still haven't registered? I'll be giving up my slot due to changes in schedule. PM me for more details.

Might sign up as part of a relay - good suggestion from Roland!

Anyone here know how the girl who wiped out at Powerade is doing? Kawawa naman. Heard it was a nasty accident.

I heard that the athlete who crashed had their wheel trapped in the crack on the road near Portofino.

I also heard that a woman had a spill because her husband, who was looking out for her during the race. He accidentally bumped her causing her to fall.

Seriously?! OK, damn, that's messed up. I hope she's ok. What a nightmare.

In fact I was tossing and turning the night before because not only was Powerade my first duathlon, it was my first ever formal cycling event of any sort (and I haven't been riding my road bike more than 3 weeks) so I'm really edgy about wipeouts, crashes, and clip-related catastrophes. I'm tremendously relieved to be intact :p

Daang Hari is notorious for those types of crashes--wheels getting stuck in the cracks or wipeouts because of the uneven surfaces. Be especially careful along the stretch between King Bee and Petron--lots of crashes there by riders in a pack who don't notice the cracks because their view of the road is blocked by the rider in front.

that's the problem with some pack riders. they don't point to the cracks on the roads nor do they gesture riders at the back to avoid obstacles along the way

This is a little dated now, but since I haven't shared it outside of FB, here it is--my handheld recording of the official Ironman Melbourne post-race video. I overlaid a clearer soundtrack and edited myself in at the end. Hehe.
