The event was packed full of flavorful color! The iPhone 6s now has rose gold! (its more like a pink to me though) So what's new with the update? 3D Touch Bumped up internal specs (A9 & M9 processors) with a 'desktop class' 64-bit architecture, 70% faster CPU, & 90% faster GPU. 12MP iSight Camera (capable to record 4k videos) Live Photos 5MP FaceTime HD Camera (more selfies to come!) 7000 Series aluminum 2nd Gen Touch ID Faster WiFi Full list of the detailed iPhone 6 & 6 Plus can be found here Personally I've been waiting for this update to upgrade my iPhone 5. What's your take on the new iPhone 6 & 6 Plus (S) ?
I'm definitely excited! It's a little bit disappointing how optical image stabilisation is still restricted to the Plus, but I'd rather consider it as a trade-off for a smaller device. Apple never mention RAM in their keynotes, but my gut feeling tells me it will have 2 GB. I certainly hope it is... now anxiously waiting for the benchmark results to come out. Touch ID was a big deal, and it still kind of is. I love being able to unlock my phone without manually entering my passcode, and now they're telling me it's going to be twice as fast? Colour me impressed. 3D Touch is the big deal today. I can see how convenient 3D Touch will be – especially for those of us with busy everyday lives.
will definitely get the 6s rose gold (64gb)! Is the 3D touch something already availble in android (different name, ofcourse) what's the difference?
They have a long-press event listener. 3D Touch is supposedly an advancement that can sense touch strength like tap, press, and long press. I suppose we'll know more about the difference once someone puts out a review. ...and speaking of review...
I just saw the keynote presentation now. I am impressed. The iPhone 6S in Rose Gold looks very appealing, though, I've yet to see the actual unit so I can make a decision. I like the hue of the gold that came with the iPhone 6 and if Apple can recreate the rose gold that I am used to seeing, then I might just give it a go! I am particularly interested with the iPad Pro, the Smart Keyboard Cover and Apple Pencil looks pretty neat. I love how they've expanded the features of the ipad product line into something of more use for the business savvy. The ipad air 2 I have is nothing short of amazing too, though I would love to see how fast and how much of a "beast" the IPad Pro is. I bet, it's really fast! i was expecting to see the USB Type C in the Keynote but who's to say they wont use it in their future products. HERMES. APPLE WATCH. TAKE MY MONEY AWAY!
Apple won't let you have gold unless you buy the new iPhone: http://www.macrumors.com/2015/09/09/apple-discontinues-gold-for-older-iphones/ Going forward, the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, and 5s will only be available for purchase in Space Gray or Silver, reserving the Gold and Rose Gold colors for the company's new flagship iPhones. Apple has confirmed to The Verge that the gold color options are no longer available for older iPhones.
So my son gets my iPhone 6+ when I get the rose gold iPhone 6+s. Perfect timing because my Globe phone plan expires this September. Anybody up for the Globe midnight run for this? Last year's launch was so much fun!!!
My friend is in the US until October and I asked her to buy me the iPhone 6S Plus Rose Gold! Fingers-crossed she'll be able to get one!
My plan ends this October, so hopefully the new phones arrive in these shores by then or at the very least, soon after.
Plan up for recontracting calls me to get this new 6s Plus. My 6 Plus will go to wifey to replace her 5s. #alwayshavereasontogetnewiphone
Here's the price of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus last year (as at November 12, 2014). Let's see if they will follow the same pricing (though I am a bit uncertain since the foreign exchange lately is not looking too good. The peso weighted average rate on November 12, 2014 was Php44.913 vs Php46.815 yesterday, September 9, 2015): iPhone 6 16GB - Php36,990 64GB - Php42,990 128GB - Php48,490 iPhone 6 Plus 16GB - Php42,990 64GB - Php48,490 128GB - Php54,490
I agree! My basic answer to colleagues this morning... 5S and below - no brainer, you have to upgrade 6/6 Plus user - depends on how much you use your front facing camera... 12MP main and 5MP front facing will mean you don't need to buy a P&S in 2016! 4K video is just a bonus... Did Apple update iMovie to be 4K compatible? One more thing... Did they mention anything about Quick Charge? Thanks to Apple's MFi, I'm 100% sure that we'll never see a Qi compatible iOS device... But every time there's an Apple announcement, I'm still hoping for that surprise.
