No hotels at those prices, hostels/inns only. Hotel rates start at 5000 and up, fluctuating depending on the season. Most hostels are more or less the same (i.e. clean but small rooms), just don't stay in Chungking.

You can try looking at rentals on Airbnb, they're usually more spacious and cheaper, with added amenities like fridges, washers/dryers, kitchenette etc.

Try checking the hotel listings of asiatravel.com. I was able to get a discounted rate of PHP3,000+++ per night for the hotel in TST area. Normally it would cost PHP5,000-6,000 per night.

+1 for New Sankyo at Mody Rd. - the street beside holiday inn. Look for Tony Leung. Yes, that's his name. No, he's not the actor. :p

Been buying from him since 2008 and no problems. I've even paid him through bank transfer and had items shipped via Fedex.

I emailed Tony Leung and he indeed answered. Camera ready and picked up already. Thank you guys, thank you philmug, saved a few thousand pesos. For once, Philmug helped me save some money :) (instead of always ending up buying things, because of all the cool stuff and accessories we discuss here)

Awesome. New Sankyo is also our go-to place for gadgets when in Hong Kong. Great prices even if in a much nicer neighborhood.
