Suggestions on sneaker shopping in HK anyone?
Yesterday I was sweating in the afternoon. The weather is a bit cooler this day no sun.
Even at night it's cool... No need for jacket. Locals are wearing.. You think they would be used to it by now. Pinoyps have greater appreciation for the cool weather. Saw quite a few pinoyps walking around... Everyone seems to be happy
Mmm.....@BM I'm not into sneakers but Fa Yuen St. and neighboring streets in the heart of Mongkok have one of the highest concentration of sneakers shops anywhere on the planet. If you have a sneakers fetish, this would be the place. Exit at E2 MTR Mongkok. Best time to shop is late afternoon and up. The authorities close down some of the streets to vehicular traffic and it becomes a really lively place, complete with gurangs rockin' on the street to the tune of old rock n' roll songs, street caricature artists, Umbrella Movement people (political) etc. Suggested snack places: Choux Creme at MTR Mongkok, Pacific Coffee at basement of Langham Place, street food places (if you can take the peculiar smell). If you are also looking for the latest headphones and in-ears, there are at least 6 to 7 good shops in that neighborhood. For electronics, the major chains (Fortress, Broadway, Suning) have branches there.
Wow! Now I'm excited! Thank you so much for the info!
Be sure to check also some of the outlets in HK. But for rare and hard to find shoes, expensive and 'sikat', definitely you can find them in mongkok.
Of you happen to dropby Times Square go the the bazaar at the 18th floor in tower one. Marathon sports just hold their inventory sale. I was able to pickup a few pairs of airmax 90s.
Better check DCshoes outlet in FaYuen St.
plenty of J's there. Just prepare your wallets as the most expensive pair I've seen is around 3k HKD.
Check Fa Yuen St. In mongkok from Dundas St. Check also factory outlet in Tung Chung via CityGate. Also lastly check the bazaar at times square on the 18th floor tower one.
Thank you all for the suggestions
mmmm......I love Modern China at the 13th Floor Food Forum Time Square. Very good Chinese food. And near Hysan Place, from Singapore, Bee Cheng Hiang, for the excellent dried meats. Super yum.
Or in TST under chungking or mirador mansion, there's an escalator heading for the basement, got some cool snickers and rubbers, low price nd the last time i was there it was sale plus a 10% discount at the cashier
Snickers? The chocolate?
^I'm sure he meant sneakers.
Yeah sorry about that, should be sneakers, hehehe if not a missing character, it'll be a wrong character. Living the life of all numbers lolz
Was just in HK this weekend. I agree that it's not as cold as I'd like it to be. The morning and afternoon temps are like LA weather but with people wearing furs and boots. When we went to Macau, I was probably the only one just wearing a shirt. The nights are colder but only if it's windy. I'd advise not to layer clothes and keep a fleece jacket handy.
Airport! I think there are 2 tea shops
so the place to be in hk is in mongkok, right?
now to find some suitable accommodations there...
I prefer to stay in central or tst. Mongkok is too crazy for me
I stayed at TST before (1997) so i guess it's changed since then...
