Another one bites the dust. Too bad; they made good-sounding products. https://www.engadget.com/2018/04/03/oppo-uhd-blu-ray/
Mm...have the Oppo PM 1, a well-balanced planer magnetic headphone (good enough to earn a nod from Tyll Hertsen and was once included in his Wall of Fame). Very good build quality. Looks like there won’t be a next version. Yup, too bad.
Just bought the Sony WH-1000XM2 at NZD 298 (from NZD 599) ~~approx 11k pesos. What a steal How much is the full retail price in the PH?
tested a stax L700 over the weekend (with a 353 amp). fell inlove with the sound... the build, not so much... my $250 BW P5 is built 20x better than that piece of plastic crap
Last na talaga ito, I promise... The second picture's the reason why I got a pair of CIEMs in the first place (and sold my then-UM3X to fund said purchase): I've got a weird left ear! If I use the same eartip for my left ear, I get channel imbalance. Initially, I thought I had a busted pair. Good thing, the package comes with a variety of Westone "Star Foam Tips" that you can mix and match. And I agree with online feedback on these tips: Wearing them feels like having your own pair of custom sleeves! Another feedback on them Westone UM30 Pro Gen 2: They're wickedly small to fit three (3) BA drivers! Granted, it's just a mix of CI and TWFK drivers but still!
And THIS demonstrates why I don't engage in futile debates about "best headphones/sound system": And it is also why I dislike the sanctimonious (political, intellectual, aesthetic, etc.), as if their view alone encapsulates reality/whole truth.
Mm...a linguistic expert’s explanation: https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2018/05/dont-rest-on-your-laurels/560483/ Me? It is laurel. I use it for adobo. That’s good enough for me.
I thought the B&Os were good naman. Am enjoying my H6 wired. Pretty flat but that is how I want it anyway Actually am asking a friend to (hopefully) buy me a B&O H7 in Japan now. ¥19,800.00
Focal Clear Professional. PH dealer lent it to a friend, who I was meeting, so I got to audition it, via a Samsung S9 and Chord Mojo. At ~$1700, Clear is between @raypin's $4000 Utopia and the sub-1K Elear. Sounds damn good. May even be slightly better than my Ether Flow. But then, my $250 ATH-M50x isn't bad either! Not in the same league, but difficult to disregard as a bang-for-the-buck choice. Glad I'm leaving town soon. I hope I forget about the Clear where I'm going.
Mm...best way and cheapest way where I buy all my headphone stands is eBay. All kinds. All pricepoints. Avoid the wooden ones like th Omega type. Dumidikit leather earpads. Stick with metal and polycarbonate. Safer to use. Almost all headphone stands comes from China. Also buy earpads cover to protect your earpads during storage. Disposable siya and mura. Like this: What makes this type good are: 1. Isang maliit na point of contact lang ang headphone and the stand 2. Durable kasi metal 3. Double base. In between the base is a gap where you can wound your headphone cable. Neat siya tingnan.
Haha. B.I. ka! Having listened to my Flow for a couple hours now (first time in months), I take it back. Focal's Clear is clearer, better defined; but also a little too exacting, unforgiving (doesn't suit sinners like me), revealing mixdown flaws. It's a tad more analytical, which may explain its "reference" label/positioning. Perhaps, the Flow is more fun and "outside the head". Plus, the Flow won't leak cash flow.
