    nice, you're a leica vip pala sir. :)

    but slightly off topic sir, were you able to make good use of leica lenses on the gm1? was the focus peaking feature any good?

    Leica fan Lang, not VIP . Leica lens on the GM1 is so much fun to use with the focus peaking feature. Big help for any rangefinder/manual lens.

    Hi fellow muggers. I'm planning to buy my first Leica camera. The D-Lux (109) will be released Nov. 28 here in Singapore. SRP is SGD1700. I prefer point and shoot compacts over DSLR and EVIL cameras. I was told that this is their best compact. It's also supposed to be identical to the LX100:). Anyhow I need your comments and suggestion. I'm also considering the D-Lux 6 which is cheaper by SGD600 but doesn't have a built In viewfinder. Thanks.

    the typ 109 will definitely be identical in performance to the panasonic lx100, as they share the same internals, specs and all. the differences will only be on the body, button and possibly UI design. as to how the leica will perform, you might want to check the current reviews of the lx100. :)

    i have inquired at the newly-opened leica store in gb5, but they have yet to receive info on when they'll have the new d-lux compact..

    I read somewhere off the net that the Jpeg engine will be different so the OOC jpegs will have a different look to the Pana camears, don't take my word on that though, it could just be pure speculation.

    I too have my sights set on the 109 as well. I hope the price (and warranty) is similar to what they will charge in Hong Kong! :)

    I just learned that the LX100 will be released here tomorrow. SRP is SGD1199. That's SGD500 cheaper than the D-Lux (typ 109). Since the hardware specs for both cameras are nearly identical, do you folks think that I should just get the cheaper LX100?

    Introducing the Leica Q! A full frame, M-looking camera with a Summilux 28/1.7 fixed lens and... AUTOFOCUS! Boom!

    Bad news it's $4,000++.

    I can confirm that the 50mm jpeg is 8MP. The original raw is 28mm RAW at 24MP.

    Hehe for a real true blue full frame Leica...4K is actually uh...relatively reasonable. A good Leica lens alone cost almost that much.
