    Hi Kate,

How can 4 buttons be so complicated? Aperture, Shutter speed, ISO setting then press the shutter (4th button) :) Actually, the hardest part is putting the film correctly :) .

Well, I will look. But what you call hexagolan is round enough for me.....should it have been perfect, it would look unnatural to me.

That's great, Kate :D . If you haven't tried putting a film in it, google it. Inserting the film is the hardest part. If my memory serves me right, you have to cut a certain portion of the film before you can thread it in.

Yeah. Besides, evaluating 'bokeh' can be subjective. Though am guessing that shot could have been taken stopped down at f/4. Realized the same thing with a shot I took earlier at f/4 were hexagonal unlike the rounded ones at f/2.

BTW, good thing the 28mm you ordered won't require a mod to your 1DS Mk II. I've read some wide lenses would require the mirror to be shaved  More info here

Like you am having so much fun with my first Leica. It's so sharp that at times I feel that I don't need to post-process my images at all. On the Summicron 50, f/2 to f/4 delivers great results.

Here's another example taken at f/4:

    And a 100% crop:

i finally got my 10.4-MP leica d-lux 3 today, handcarried by my mom from the US. got it off ebay very slightly used for $553 including shipping, so that's about 23K at P42. not bad.... i love the humongously wide screen, a natural 16:9....[IMG]

next question: should i sell my tiny 7.2-MP c-lux 2? it's a cutie pie and fits right in my pocket.... naaah, i think not, not until the day i have nothing to eat ;)

@penmanila: should you sell your Leica, please put me on the top of your list... thanks! =)

If ever that happens, as there are mac-converts, I'll be a Leica-convert! (currently a Canon disciple here...)

    =)

Sir Butch, How I wish I can afford one. I wonder how it's image quality compares with the G7 or G9?

you can afford it, daniel, the price is about the same as a G7/G9. in terms of image quality, i think the canons are still better, pero hindi naman nagkakalayo. what i'm buying here is that huge wide screen and aspect ratio--plus the portability, of course ;) by the way, my wife is looking for a G9 for office use. where's the cheapest i can get one w/ warranty?

true true, the aspect ratio is very addicting. after seeing it in its wide LCD screen, it makes me want to shoot nothing more but panoramic.

on how portable it is, I carried it with me for 7 days in china around my neck using an ID chord.

Just came back from a company trip in Shanghai and used my Leica Summicron R 50 as my walkaround lens. Below are some of the pics shot handheld with no sharpening or post processing involved:

    Not bad.

So what would be the defining trait of the new digital Leicas?
    Panoramic shots?

    thanks

Sir Butch almost all the stores po in Hidalgo is selling the G9 for P25,500 which comes with a 1gb SD card, an original Canon leater pouch specifically for the g9 and a P4K coupon for Rayban sunglasses po, These are the local official canon warrantied units.

How I wish I can afford it. pero my wife wont allow me to advance any money, she said " anong gagawin mo with a S5is, a G9 and your Lomo LC-A+?" :(

    Cooles, WOW great shots!!
