I have a mid 2011 13-inch macbook air and its battery died. Battery did not hold any charge at all.

I had the battery changed by burn and jhoy in greenhills. The battery works like a charm. While using the mac air the battery discharges, I reckon, a little faster than the original battery by about 5%. On standby the battery holds its charge almost equal to the original battery. There's very little or no disxharge at all. The replacement cost me P3,000 labor and materials.

Burn and Jhoy 09178999200 and 09227175088

that battery should last more than 300 cycles, ask your supplier ot change it or at last give you a discount on the post warranty replacement

Oh ok. You mean I can take it to an Apple Service Center and possibly get it replaced for free since it's defective?

Who is the best authorized repair provider for this battery issue? I have a macbook pro 15 with touchbar under applecare that is showing Service Battery. I don't want to bring it to a repair provider who will immediately tell me they will reinstall the OS just to diagnose the problem.
Also my letter "B" in the keyboard is acting up.

Any updated recommendations for battery replacements? I'm not sure if the old recommendations are still applicable.

    Good afternoon,

I just noticed my MBP TB 2016's trackpad is bulging and the bottom cover. I believe replacing the battery on these things require replacing the entire top case including the keyboard, touchbar and track pad because it is just one assembly.

Anybody from Beyond The Box or any authorized service center can give a rough estimate of the cost?

I'm asking so I can better decide if it's still worth it to do the replacement or better to just get a new machine.

This machine has paid for itself pero sayang kasi eh. It's a good machine.

I hope somebody can provide some information.

    Thank you in advance.

While Apple or authorised service centers may say that the entire top case will have to replaced, my experience is that its not necessary true. I’ve replaced my own 13” 2017 MBP battery and a friend’s unit similar to your. Disassembling of the old battery is nerve-wracking but doable and significantly cheaper.

Most people get them from the popular online stores.

Depending on your model the batteries cost from 3K to around 5K depending what brand and which online store you get them from.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate it very much.

I would like to know from anybody who has firsthand experience purchasing these batteries the actual source of the battery (eg. website, particular seller, etc etc) if possible.

    TIA.

Hi. Thank you for your reply.

ifixit ships to PH or you used a remailer like ShippingCart?

    I'm assuming you're PH-base. If not, apologies.

    TIA.

Originally ordered the batteries from China but later told they can’t be shipped due to restrictions. Got them instead locally from an online seller; delivered same day I ordered. They cost around 4 to 5k each. If from China 6k++ would get 2 including na yung shippping. I checked out ifixit but they are more expensive and they don’t ship directly here and have to go through a third party courier which I have no idea how to go about.

I’ve already ordered two batteries from a local Lazada seller Westwind, MBA and rMBP, installed them by myself.

Always remember to fully discharge the batteries before disassembly.

Really? If it's service center then I assume that's the complete topcase assembly because they don't replace just the battery. That's not bad at all.
