^ That's good for you sir.

What were the problems you encountered on your MBA's battery that Apple Care was able to replace it for free?

I have mine in 'Service Battery' status and PowerMac said that battery-related issues are not covered by Apple Care, while in BTB they said that they will still diagnose it for 3-5 days which I have to leave my MBA to them. If proven faulty and covered by Apple Care, they will order the parts which could take 2-3 weeks to arrive.

Hi I would like to know what could be the cause if my late 2013 rMBP to stop charging?

Is its a problem in the MagSafe2 power plug? The LED indicator won't light at all. And I have lost battery power since last night.

I tried doing an SMC reset and even an PRAM/NVRAM but nothing.

I checked the System Info and clicked the Power section the Status is Normal and Cycle Rate is at 93 (rMBP is rated for 1000).

This MBP was bought late Dec 2013 which is highly unusual for a relatively new laptop (and expensive to boot, 15inch 16gb model here)

I've read somewhere about the many complaints about the Magsafe2.

Should I just go to the nearest apple store I can find? Im currently abroad and the mac is bought locally.

Middle contact points are not aligned with the two outer contact points...

    Its a possible elasticity defect

Same as yours. The "Service Battery" status came up, and upon checking the Charge Info and Health Info, it said to "Replace Battery."

Left it with the guys at Ynzal and they brought it to the authorized service center the next day. A day later, they got it back with the new replacement battery. Maybe it does take 2-3 weeks to get the part, but in my case, it was readily available so I didn't need to wait too long.

Is it ok if I just leave my MBP plugged in all the time? Someone told me if you're going to use your mac for long hours you need to keep it plugged regardless whether the battery is at a 100% or not.

Ynzal is offering 20% discounts on MacBook Pro battery replacements (Newertech), you guys might want to check it out. Its their special 15th anniversary offer! Good only until 20 September!

Might as well bring your units for a quick diagnostic check up.

Mine is already out of warranty. I'm also getting a "Service Battery" notification. It lasts less than an hour -- which means the 100% gets used up real quick. It also just sort of dies sometime around 50%. As in it just shuts down. That means "replace asap," yes? I'm hoping to get it replaced, but still trying to find the right timing as it would be difficult to not have the MBA.

^@xkg: if you have time, have it checked at Ynzal first so they can ascertain exactly what needs to be done. They can also advise you of the time frame for replacing the battery.

    good luck!

Guys have you encountered a time when you plugged in the magsafe charger then there was no light, and you had to remove and reconnect it?

    My OCD is kicking in.

^^ yup happens to me sometimes. I just remove it & plug it again, but if it continuously has no light, then I guess you have to have it checked.

Wifey's battery capacity is down to 78% although it only has 330+ cycles. Battery condition is still normal though. Ever after recycling the battery. it can now only hold tops 78%.

Should I start to be worried? Macbook air is late 2011 11" model.

Seems the 'service battery' warning on my early 2011 mbp got reset after I upgraded to Yosemite. I wonder how long before it comes out again.

What I usually do, whenever the battery percentage reaches less than 10%, I plug it until fully charged. If I have to go, i let it drain again until 10% before I plug it
