Can't you just use the side of your thumb to tap on the screen to turn the page? That's what I do.

For the right hand, yes. But for the left hand you need to extend your thumb a little farther toward the center otherwise you'll hit the "page back" portion.

You can also swipe right to left to move pages forward (even if you're in the 'page back' portion) and swipe left to right to turn the page back.

Hi guys. I'm a newbie when it comes to Kindle. I just bought from a local reseller a Kindle FIRE HD. I read comparisons between the ipad mini and the fire hd and decided to get the latter because it is cheaper. :D Now, my problem is how can I install apps on this. I have been reading forums and blogs but can't seem to install apps. I hope someone can walk me through the steps in installing apps like fb, youtube, pdf reader, adobe flash player, etc. Thanks in advance.

"Upgraded" my Kindle 2 to Kindle for the Android. :) Now I almost don't use the Kindle 2 anymore. But I miss it a few times, like when in the airplane when I can't power up my Android. But maybe I can talk to the stewardess to say I'll run it in Airplane mode?

Hi guys! Just a question. Just yesterday when I took out my kindle out of my bag, this happened:

Half of the screen is frozen or something. Is the LCD broken? I've tried hard resets, plugging it to my mac, and nothing helped. If it happens that the LCD is broken, do we have local repairshops where I could get it fixed? Thanks!

Looks like a broken screen. If you want to do it yourself, I think the process is fairly simple as long as you can find a replacement screen. (Try aliexpress.com)

happened to me with my less than a month old kindle 4 a year ago. I isnt a software problem. There was no history of trauma to the kindle:) good thing it was still on warranty and was replaced by amazon. you can try xtine's suggestion, or you can just get a new one :)

Tried holding the powerbutton for a minute. No avail. Half of the screen is still frozen. I guess I'm off better to but a paperwhite, I've always wanted one anyways. :)

Just got my hands on a regular Kindle 5th Gen! And I was really lucky to find a brand new unit at only P3,500!

So sad I left my kindle keyboard on a Cebu pacific plane :-( should I get another one? I'm thinking twice about the paper white's lack of keyboard and physical turn button kasi eh.

Sorry about your Kindle. Sent you PM :)

I love the PW's screen but I really miss the physical page turn buttons. I thought that I'd get used to the touch interface but it still annoys me from time to time.

The perfect Kindle for me is a Kindle keyboard with all the original specs (text to speech, physical buttons, etc) AND a PW screen. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Kindle Fire HD's image and sound quality are really nice! I think I prefer watching videos on the Kindle Fire vs. my iPad (New iPad).

Hello, are the MoKo Paperwhite cases (the one with the Auto Sleep/Wake function) available locally? If there are, where could I purchase them? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)
