Folks. Creating this thread for all Tesla related topics. Do we have Tesla owners here? Does anyone here know how to buy one, more importantly how much would it cost if we factor shipping and all government mandated taxes. The base model X costs USD 79,999. Closest Tesla distributor / dealer I believe is Taiwan.
If my information is correct, only two have had a Tesla in their garage. One is Manny V. Pangilinan who reportedly owns a Tesla Model S. The other is an unnamed Pinoy expat who was told by the LTO that he cannot drive his Tesla in country because it is considered a “low-speed vehicle.” Manny Pacquiao was famously quoted as saying that he would’ve liked a Tesla Cybertruck soon, but since it has yet to arrive in 2023, he instead will set his sights on the presidency, so help us all.
Actually there seems to be a handful of teslas around in PH. In my neighborhood, we have a white Model X which I usually see parked around Tomas Morato, then there's another white model X who's a regular in the BGC space where I park. I've also encountered a gray Model X around Rockwell area. My friend's boss drives a red Model 3 in Magallanes area, and another friend's neighbor in New Manila owns a gray Model 3. I'm sure there are more around here. My dream house would have a Tesla Powerwall and Solar Panels, then a Model 3 for everyday driving. With the abundance of sun in our country, I'd be driving that car for free. Someday, maybe in a loooong time ahead. lol
Hmm. So that means that LTO registration is possible for EVs. If I’m not mistaken you can already preorder the Kona Electric from Hyundai.
It seems that way. They do have license plates attached to them (except for the gray X that I saw), not sure if those have special codes for it. What I've yet to see is a Model S.
There are a few sightings mentioned in the "electric car thread" The BYD e6 is also locally available.
Well it seems they allow it now https://www.google.com.ph/amp/s/www...s-electric-vehicles-can-now-be-registered/amp But will car dealers shoulder the certificate of accreditation needed, that being one of the requirements for registration of EVs that they would sell?
I’ve seen a Model S somewhere with a placeholder plate that just says “ELECTRIC CAR” and I’m like, um okay, nice flex. I’m curious if Tesla owners here are able to use Autopilot or even the other remote connectivity features?
Finally saw a Tesla Model S in the Philippines in person, parked in UPTown BGC parking lot. Looks like we not have S, X, and 3(es) roaming our streets on a daily basis. I wish to know one of them and ask how autopilot works in our roads and gnarly drivers.
would love to own a Tesla one day do we have any charging stations here? the BMW i8 is also a dream car
