Sorry if someone has posted about this before but I did do a search for - Summarize, Services Summarize and Safari Summarize and I found none. I stumbled upon this not so well known app within the Services Menu of Safari, it's called- Summarize. What it does is it summarizes a block of selected text for you. So if your not sure whether it's worth your time to read through a long article, you can make your Mac summarize it for you. You can even adjust how much short you want the summary to be from 100% to 1%. Cool! Here a link to a demo in MacBreak: http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mov?http://pixelcorps.cachefly.net/macbreak-062-450p-h264.mov
That's pretty cool, I tried summarizing a few sites and it works well enough. I'm not sure what I'd use it for in a real-world setting but it's pretty amazing. Thanks for sharing this.
I will try this out later. Makes me curious what technologies it uses for summarizing articles. Thanks for the tip.
wow, this is a good find, tested it and it puts out really sensible summary of a long article, thanks!
